In this review, I’m breaking down the entire second season of X-Men ’97, from Cable’s time-travelling family drama and the rise of Apocalypse to X-Force, X-Factor, Polaris, Magneto’s legacy, and of course… Gambit’s return as Gampocalypse!
There’s a LOT I loved this season. The Apocalypse two-parter, Gambit’s return, the emotional moments with Magneto, and some seriously awesome action all showed just how incredible X-Men ’97 can be.
But then there are the problems.
Some episodes felt completely unnecessary, the season moved way too fast, certain character arcs didn’t land for me, and the finale… well, let’s just say I have thoughts.
Was Cable’s prophecy completely undermined? Did Polaris really earn her redemption? Why did we need another Weapon X episode? And was Nightcrawler’s sacrifice actually earned?
I’m going through all of it — the highs, the lows, the nitpicks, and the moments that had me yelling at my screen.
Overall, Season 2 is a step down from Season 1… but there’s still plenty here that gives me hope for Season 3.
So, do you agree with me, or have I completely missed the mark?
Let me know in the comments — especially if you think I was unfair to Polaris. 😂
Spoilers throughout!

The TARDIS just hit some serious turbulence…
In this quick-fire episode, we break down the shocking news surrounding Doctor Who — from the reported cancellation of the 2026 Christmas Special to the departure of Russell T Davies and Bad Wolf Productions.
There’s been a lot of confusion (and a fair bit of panic) in the Whovian community — but is the show actually cancelled, or is something else going on behind the scenes?
We cut through the noise to explain:
- What “competitive tender” really means for the future of Doctor Who
- Why the BBC’s decision doesn’t necessarily spell the end
- The controversy around the unresolved regeneration twist (yes… that Billie Piper reveal 👀)
- And whether this could be the start of another “wilderness period”
It’s a shorter episode, but one we couldn’t skip — especially for a show that’s been a core part of our fandom.
💬 Got thoughts on the future of Doctor Who? Think the show’s in trouble or just evolving? Let us know.
